*************************************************** New SFWA Western Regional Director *************************************************** I'm pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2008, for the term ending June 30, 2009, the new Western Regional Director for SFWA® will be Jim Fiscus. Jim has been a member of SFWA since 1983, and he lives and works out of Portland, Oregon as a writer and a photographer. He has a MA in Middle East and Asian History, and regularly publishes both non-fiction and short fiction. For SFWA, he has written for the Bulletin, served as the liaison to two Portland Westercon's in the 1990's, chaired the Handbook Committee, and served on the Membership Committee for almost five years. I'm very pleased to have Jim on the incoming Board, and look forward to working with him in the coming year. Cheers,
