For the first time, there is now one online place where every SFWAn who can get online can go to talk to other SFWAns. It doesn't matter who uses what ISP, or where else they talk to whom: all online SFWAns can now have access to the private SFWA areas on our Web site and on SFF Net. These private newsgroups are areas inaccessible to anyone who is not a SFWA member, yet accessible to every class of SFWA member. Like the private SFWA areas on Genie, Compuserve, and other online services, these newsgroups are invisible to non-members. But unlike all the others, these ones are accessible to every SFWAn who can get online: all you have to do is fill out the form, and wait a couple of days for SFWA to verify your application and for SFF Net to set up your account. When that's done, SFF Net will send you email with logon instructions. If you have difficulty finding or using the private newsgroups, please see whether there's a solution on the newsgroup FAQ page.
