2006 Nebula Awards Weekend Charity Auction
Thanks to everyone who participated in our Charity Auction — the folks
who donated great stuff, the staff who set it up and ran it, the
Auctioneers and all the grand folks who spent so much money and such a
fun time. We had an extraordinary experience with Harlan Ellison and
Ellen Klages running away with the auction — with extraordinary
results — we made $6,041.00 for our charity beneficiaries!
In addition, Lisa Snellings-Clark, who did the fabulous artwork for
our program and website, also made 16 bronze Harlan Rats for the
centerpieces of the Awards Banquet which were subsequently auctioned
off in a silent auction. This netted us an additional $1,540.00 for a
grand total of $7,581.00. Wow!
Comic Book Legal Defense
Fund (CBLDF) and the Octavia E. Butler
Memorial Scholarship Fund will benefit from these monies.
I had a wonderful time; it was exciting and memorable. I don't think
anyone who was there will forget it soon.
